Environment : IRF Policy Statement on Environment
Representing the voice of the members in the process of road policy formulation, the International Road Federation has been publishing throughout the years a number of policy statements to communicate the position of the Federation when it comes to key issues. To consult them please click here.
The members of the IRF Working Group Environment initiated last year work on an "Environment Policy Statement" for the Federation. This Policy Statement will join the five policy statements already published.
On the basis of the recommendations formulated during the "2nd Roads & Environment" conference held in Geneva in November 2008 the IRF Working Group Environment has elaborated a draft text which is now available for comments, amendments and final approval from the IRF members.
The draft text - which can be accessed in the members’ section - has an introductory part which recalls the problems at stake. It is then followed by a number of recommendations on policy, regulatory and fiscal measures, impacts assessment and mitigation measures.
IRF Members needing a login and password to access the members restricted area can request it to Lydia Scotto lscotto@irfnet.org.
Please send your comments and amendments to Susanna Zammataro, szammataro@irfnet.org.
