December 2010 Edition

Dear [fname],

With this newsletter, we bring you the latest news before the festive season. Soon, we bid farewell to 2010 – another milestone year for the IRF - and welcome 2011 and with this some exciting events.

Road Safety
2011 will be the launch of the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. IRF will launch the decade in Bucharest Romania. We cordially invite you to join us on 10-11 May 2011 for the IRF Road Safety Symposium, for the launch of the Decade, the Inaroads Award Ceremony, the IRF Geneva General Assembly (members only) and the meeting of the IRF working groups on road safety and on finance. It will be a memorable event.

Environment
As leaders in eco-friendly infrastructure, IRF is organising its third landmark event on Environment. Infrastructure is an important means for poverty alleviation, but it is also at the heart of the debate on climate change. IRF will showcase the latest development and innovation in environmentally friendly construction material at its conference ‘Enhancing Green & Sustainable Transport for Africa and Middle East’ to be held in Egypt on 14 - 15 June 2011. Environment impact s on all of us – it is our concern.

Innovation
The road infrastructure sector works relentlessly to innovate the way infrastructure is built and used. Private sector is particularly forward looking and drives innovation in the field of road infrastructure. IRF members will demonstrate innovation at its International Road Congress on Innovation in Road Infrastrucuture, to be held in Moscow, Russia, from 22 – 24 November 2011. Innovation is the global way forward. Join us for this interesting scientific programme and an exhibition.

I look forward to meeting with you next year and wish you a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year.

Best regards,

S. Rupprecht
