On June 17, 2010 a large-scale social awareness campaign “The last oncoming lane” will be launched in Russia to last for a month.
Mr. Viktor Kiryanov, Chief traffic police inspector of the Russian Federation, spoke at the news conference which was held to announce the upcoming campaign. “The goal of the campaign is to demonstrate clearly and to remind the drivers once more about really tragic consequences of driving in a hurry”. “We rely exactly on a warning of road uses”, he stressed. “During the campaign we don’t aim at exposing as many traffic rules violators moving to the oncoming lane as possible to revoke their licenses”. “I repeat once again – our sole purpose is to caution drivers and prevent road crashes”, noted Mr. Viktor Kiryanov.
Quite a number of events are scheduled during the campaign including special spot-checks and massed social and informative actions. But the core of it is a special social advertising video reel shot in a 3D format for the first time in Russia.
