MVA Fund Launches 'Kids Power' Campaign in Kavango and Caprivi Regions

The MVA Fund this week empowered children in the Kavango and Caprivi regions with vital information about road safety, as part of the launch of the Kids Power campaign.
At Rundu the event was attended by an overwhelming 1500 children while Katima Mulilo recorded a turnout of 800 school going children.

En mesurant l’épaisseur d’eau sur les chaussées, l’appareil permet de gérer les risques d’aquaplaning lors des atterrissages. La validation des mesures est en cours avec le Laboratoire National d’Essais.

UN General Assembly recognizes key role of Regional Commissions in the Decade of Action for Road Safety

On 2 March 2010, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a historical resolution aimed at strengthening action of the international community to reduce deaths and injuries from road traffic crashes worldwide over the next ten years. In the resolution, tabled by the Government of the Russian Federation and co-sponsored by more than 90 UN Member States, the General Assembly proclaims the period 2011-2020 as the Decade of Action for Road Safety with a goal to reduce the forecasted level of road fatalities around the world by increasing activities at national, regional and global levels.
