PPP Working Group
The IRF Working Group on PPP has as objectives to promote PPP as a concept, work as a forum where best practices are presented and discussed in order to help decision makers and contractors to design feasible, profitable PPP projects. The Working Group can provide the international dimension, due to the vast experience of IRF members in a variety of countries.
The group currently consist of around 25 members and meets twice a year. Check out the members list here.
The activities of the Working group are:
- To promote PPPs in general, insisting on PPPs being one way among others to procure services related to road infrastructure, with its specific advantages and prerequisites.
- To liaise with relevant international players, be they government-related (EC, UN ECE, PIARC, etc.), International Financing Institutions (such as EIB, EBRD, World Bank, IDB, ADB, etc.) and professional organisations.
- To encourage a realistic approach to the development of PPPs and to adequate procurement procedures;
- To provide assistance to members in the following ways:
- lobbying national authorities in favour of the development of PPPs in general or specific projects;
- providing members with networking opportunities, stimulating cooperation on the development of PPP projects amongst IRF members and interested third parties;
- organising information exchange amongst IRF members;
- presenting IRF members’ interests at international PPP oriented conferences.
