IRF Webinar on Data Collection & Statistical Practices to Support Road Safety Policies
Thursday 7 March 2013, 10:00 – 11:00AM CET
This IRF Webinar will address the need to centralise road accident data to facilitate effective road safety analysis and monitoring at regional and/or country levels.
Crash accident statistics do not currently provide sufficient information on road safety issues, because the limited data that does exist, tends not to be managed in a coordinated and efficient manner. This points to the importance of identifying authoritative sources of data and compiling data centrally. This way, data accuracy and reliability can be enhanced for the purposes of identifying problem areas, risk factors and priorities in the context of effective road safety policy development.
Learn and discuss about the key sources of road accident data and which statistical systems can help centralizing the information, analysing road accident data and better organise and coordinate data collection systems.
