TRL International Business Director, Dr Jacquie Berry, is looking forward to the new collaboration, “TRL shares many work areas with IRF including road safety and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and the development of sustainable transport solutions. We have already participated in IRF workshops in Marrakech and Barbados and are keen to share our knowledge with IRF experts in their global effort to reduce casualties and create more sustainable transport systems.”
IRF Chairman Kiran K. Kapila said: “We are very pleased to welcome TRL to the IRF family. With its wide ranging and global road related research activities, TRL is a true asset to the IRF membership. We are excited to work closely with TRL towards a world of safe, sustainable and efficient roads and road networks.”
About TRL
TRL – the UK's Transport Research Laboratory, is recognised world-wide for transport innovation, evidential research and impartial advice. Commercially independent with over 80 years of knowledge and experience embedded in its history, TRL's work is rooted in the traditional areas of road and vehicle safety, highway engineering and maintenance. Through the decades, however, this knowledge has expanded to encompass so many other facets that shape and form transport decisions: sustainability, attitudes and behaviours, simulation and modelling, climate change, engineering, product development, standards and specifications. TRL's vision is to meet transport's challenges, reduce casualties and safeguard the environment, improve vehicle safety, manage infrastructure more effectively and provide global solutions fit for the 21st century.
