IRF welcomes new Director General of Geneva Programme Center
It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Mr. Ian Webb as Director General of IRF Geneva Programme Center. Mr. Ian Webb’s six month tenure as Director General commenced on 22 August 2013. I am confident that Mr. Ian Webb will be an invaluable asset in facilitating and guiding the transition of IRF Geneva Programme Center that was started in 2012.
Ian Webb A seasoned and well respected professional, Mr. Ian Webb brings with him, 32 years of rich and varied experience at CEO/Chairman level as well as holder of key positions in the Government of Australia. He specializes in initiating and managing strategic change and has made notable contributions in this area, specifically involving Australian Organizations, such as - Chairing Government enquiry of Homebush Abattoir Corporation and restructuring to rationalize the debts of $ 58 Mil; Privatising Commercial operations of Sydney Wholesale Markets; Negotiating and bringing about an amicable conclusion to the interstate milk war; Achieving government recognition as the national peak for roads for Roads Australia – he has many more laurels to his credit.
With the appointment of Mr. Ian Webb as Interim Director General of IRF Geneva, I very reluctantly announce the departure of Ms. Zammataro as Acting Director General. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Ms. Susanna Zammataro for her dedicated and professional contributions to IRF Geneva, despite her indifferent health this past year. However, Ms. Zammataro has very kindly agreed to continue to support IRF Geneva in two key areas in the coming months - the involvement of IRF Geneva with the UNRSC (notably chairmanship of Project Group “Safer Roads and Mobility) and the activities of IRF Geneva with regards to the environment, and in particular, the initiative on Green Public Procurement. We are hopeful that once Ms. Zammataro has fully recovered her health, we will be able welcome her back into the fold of the IRF family, in the not too distant future. In the meantime, she will continue to be reachable on her IRF e-mail address: szammataro@irfnet.ch
