EDITORIAL

Dear Readers,

Welcome to the first issue of the IRF (Geneva) Newsletter for 2019. The year has started at full speed with an enriching and intense week in Washington for TRB, SuM4All and Transforming Transportation. The annual UNECE Inland Transport Committee hosted in Geneva end of February has set the tone for a year that will see the transport community focus attention on automation, technology and also road safety. With less than a year to the third Ministerial meeting on road safety to be hosted by Sweden, road safety is more than ever gaining momentum across the world. As a Federation we have always strongly believed in the power of partnerships. More than ever, we think that partnerships are the key way forward to deliver on the challenges the sector faces and that's why we are investing a lot of our efforts in instigating, facilitating, supporting, coordinating partnerships at all levels. You will be able to read more about it in this newsletter and those to come.

Good reading and we look forward to working with many of you throughout the year!

Susanna Zammataro
Director General
